Cleats
If you’re just playing for fun at home then you might be able to forgo these for a bit but if your little one is ready to hit the field, cleats are a must.
We get our cleats for all sports at Walmart (for both boys and girls). They always hold up well and the price points are super affordable.
Flag Football Belt
In flag football, the flags must be attached to a belt, but any old belt won’t do. Here’s a set that has belts with attached flags.
Flag Football Flags
In order to tell who is on which team, you’ll have to have enough belts in 2 different colors.
The flag football kit above includes 5 belts with red flags and 5 belts with yellow flags so you can play with up to 10 players. It also includes a soft football to practice with and a playbook to help them get started.
Mouthguard
Even though flag football doesn’t include tackling it’s still smart to play it safe with a mouthguard. Just be sure to grab one in the right size.
This mouthguard is great for both boys and girls. It comes in 14 colors and is only $11.
Shorts
As with all other sports, it’s important to have a few pairs of comfortable shorts for practice and games. Walmart has tons of great basics for all sports and for kids of all ages.
Gloves
Flag football Gloves can help grip when catching a ball, but also help to keep hands a bit warmer from the elements. They can also help with better accuracy when throwing the ball.
Tshirt
As with most other physical sports, you’ll want to make sure you have enough comfortable t-shirts on hand for practice. Solids are great for mixing and matching.
Football Training Target Net
While a target net isn’t a requirement for flag football it’s definitely a nice extra to have for practicing. This is great because It has 3 different targets and includes a portable carrying case.
Whether it’s football, soccer, lacrosse, etc., Walmart has all the sports gear and apparel you’ll need for the kids. And we love that we can also knock out grocery shopping while we’re at it. Win-win!
